Maybe it's because I (and perhaps you) started reading with shorter, less descriptive books which means that these long things seem tedious and even foreboding to pick up.<br /><br />I'd love to do one! Classics I own are: Nicholas Nickleby, Tale of Two Cities (Dickens), Mansfield Park, Sense and Sensibility (Austen), Tess of the D'Ubervilles (Hardy), Portrait of a Lady (Henry James), Frankenstein (Shelley), All of Oscar Wilde's stuff and Treasure Island.
